iPhone 6's release date will happen on Sept. 9 and will be launched alongside the company's smartwatch – iWatch.

Latest reports say that iPhone 6 will be announced similarly to Samsung's device partnered with a smartwatch. The iWatch will be released earlier than expected. It was initially speculated that the iWatch would be released in October. The iPhone 6 will pack upgraded specs and features as well as new software iOS 8. Below is the comparison between the iPhone 5S and the rumored features of the upcoming iPhone 6 that will help consumers determine whether they should upgrade to the new smartphone.

Screen Display

The iPhone 5S packs a 4-inch screen display with 640 x 1136 pixel resolution. The upcoming iPhone 6 is rumored to pack a 4.7 inch screen panel with Full HD Retina display. Other rumors stated that another variant of iPhone 6 will also sport a 5.5 inch screen.

Processor

The iPhone 5S is powered by 64-bit A7 processor. The iPhone 6 is reported to come with the next gen A8 processor with 64-bit architecture.

Internal Storage

The two smartphones will most likely be available in 16GB, 32GB and 64GB storage variants. There were reports that the new iPhone 6 will come with 128GB variant.

Operating System

The current iPhone 5S was released with iOS 7. The smartphone is updated to iOS 7.1.1. The next flagship smartphone will run with the new iOS 8 packing new features and functions such as iHealth, improved iMaps and Siri.

Camera

Both smartphones will come with an 8MP camera. However, the upcoming iPhone will come with better software to back up the camera feature of the handset.

Battery

Lastly, the iPhone 5S comes with up to nine hours of battery capacity. iPhone 6 will come with longer battery life. The handset was speculated to pack up to 12 hours of battery capacity.
