iPhone 6 release date will be on Sept. 9, according to the latest report of a tech web site.

Re/corde reported that Apple will hold its grand launch for the successor of its flagship smartphone on Sept. 9. Moreover, the handset will be available for purchase 10 days after the release. This means that consumers will be able to get their hands on the new iPhone by Sept. 19.

However, this is different from previous speculations that claimed that the new Apple smartphone will be released on Sept. 19 based on previous iPhone release. If this proves to be true, the handset will hit the market a week after that. There are also other reports that the iPhone 6 release date is pushed back to October and the company will have a very busy fall. Apple has not released any official information about the launching of the next iPhone.

Meanwhile, it is reported that the iPhone 6 will be available in two variants with one of the versions targeting the phablet category to take on the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 set to be released September 3. This smartphone is reportedly to pack a 5.5 inches screen display. The other variant is claimed to pack a 4.7 screen panel. The smaller version of iPhone 6 is rumored to be released in its usual launch window in September and the 5.5 inch phablet is rumored to be launched in October.

Other rumored features of the next iPhone 6 are 64-bit A8 processor, iOS 8, as well as improved fingerprint sensor and camera were some of the suspected features of the upcoming iPhone 6.

Wall Street Journal reported that Apple is expecting to sell 70 to 80 million units of iPhone 6 on its launch in the fall. The report added that the company ordered the said number of unit right for the launch of the handset.
