iPad mini 4, iPad Air 3 release date rumors: Tablets to be launched during Apple Sept. 9 event

Rumors about the alleged release of the iPad mini 4 and iPad 3 are beginning to intensify after Apple Inc. formally announced that it will conduct another event in early September to discuss their upcoming products. 

Based on prevalent speculations, the devices could be unveiled during the highly-anticipated Apple event that will be held at the Bill Graham Auditorium in San Francisco on Wednesday, Sept. 9. Both devices are expected to be officially offered in retail stores starting October this year.

Several reports claim that the latest version of the iPad mini 4 will feature improvements from the iPad mini 3, including the inclusion of the new A9 processor under the hood that is said to allow split-screen view. It could also have 2 GB of RAM and an 8-megapixel iSight camera, just like he current iPad Air 2. The 7.9-inch iPad mini 4 is also believed to be thinner and lighter compared to its predecessor. 

On the other hand, the iPad Air 3 is also expected to be launched during the Apple event despite earlier reports claiming that a new iPad Air version will not be released this year.

The device, which allegedly comes with an A9x processor, will have a 9.7-inch touchscreen with 2K resolution that could support brilliant 3D display, 3 GB of RAM, as well as a 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash. Other reports say that the iSight camera of the upcoming iPad Air device will be somewhere between 5 to 8 megapixels. It is also said to sport a thinner body compared to the iPad Air 2.  

The pricing for the iPad Air 3 is also expected to be around the range of the introductory price of the iPad Air 2, where the 16 GB Wi-Fi model will be sold for $615, the 64 GB will sell for $738, and the 128 GB Wi-Fi edition will come with a $861 price tag. Meanwhile, the 3G/ cellular editions of the iPad Air 3 will reportedly be retailed at $769 for 16 GB, $892 for 64 GB, and $1,016 for 128 GB. 

The prices for the iPad mini 4 are still unrevealed. 

However, the Cupertino-based tech firm has yet to confirm whether the alleged iPad devices will come out during the upcoming September event.
