HTC One M10 release date set for April 11?

Rumors have said that HTC will not be launching the One M10 at this year's Mobile World Congress, which is set for later this month. The most recent speculations seem to dovetail with these rumors as some observers suppose that the HTC One M10 will be seen on April 11.

According to Stuff.tv, a Portuguese website announced that contrary to earlier rumors, HTC decided to unveil the One M10 at a stand-alone event, which is scheduled to happen on April 11. Should this be proven true, the One M10, although a flagship iteration, will be at least two months late as other flagship lineups like the Samsung Galaxy S7 and LG G5 are already confirmed to appear at the MWC.

GSM Arena reported that it is also rumored that HTC will be having its stand-alone press event for the One M10 in London. The industry follower mentioned that some sources have also come out with another speculation – it seems that HTC will be scrapping its M series tag altogether. According to the report, the "M10" tag will be gone from the new iteration, although the "One" in its name will still be used.

HTC renaming its One M10 iteration has already been rumored ever since the new flagship was announced. According to some outlets, HTC might even use its "HTC Perfume" tag, which is the internal code for the upcoming flagship iteration. Renaming the new HTC flagship also dovetails with speculations that instead of following in the footsteps of previous One M lineups, HTC decided to build its next premium smartphone from the ground up. Some of the rumored specs of the new HTC flagship include a redesigned and streamlined all-metal body, next-gen Snapdragon processor, and an UltraPixel camera assembly.
