HTC One M10 release date and specs rumors: killer camera to be featured?

It was not too long ago when HTC released its flagship, the One M9, but users are now looking ahead into the company's promised smartphone-filled future, with a successor to the handset already at the forefront. Speculations suggest that the Internet-dubbed HTC One M10 will come out this year.

The HTC One M10, according to rumors, will be released in December. While it is understood that the Taiwan-based manufacturer released its previous flagships in the month of March, the alleged weak sales of the One M9 has apparently prompted the tech firm to launch its next device during the holiday season.

How true this claim is remains to be seen. Nevertheless, rumor mills have already painted a picture of the HTC One M10, and if the specs list reflects that of the handset's makings, then it looks like it will be an excellent upgrade to its predecessor.

The HTC offering is touted to make use of a display generating 2K or 4K resolution, which will have the device on par with its rival handsets and, of course, cater to the users' need for a sharp and crisp visual quality.

Under the hood will be Qualcomm's latest Snapdragon octa-core processor with HMP cyclone technology. This will be partnered with an intimidating 4 GB RAM. This combo will make the HTC One M10 a very formidable device while it gives its competitors a run for their money.

Add to that the expected 64 GB and 128 GB storage capacities as well as a potent 3500 mAh battery. Also, it is expected to feature two SIM slots. But the centerpiece of the HTC One M10 is said to lie on the camera.

The HTC One M9's 20.7-megapixel shooter on the back already sounds compelling, but its successor is rumored to pack stocky 27-megapixel front and back cameras, which would mark another high point for the company in consideration of its previous offerings.

Said to come with a $650 to $800 price tag, the HTC One M10 is also reportedly being crafted to resist dust and water.
