After the visually appealing season 3 premiere of "Hannibal," it is now time for the manhunt to begin.

While Hannibal Lecter (Mads Mikkelsenn) and his psychotherapist Dr. Bedelia Du Maurier (Gillian Anderson) are living the high life in Italy while disguising as a happily married couple, viewers will finally find out what happened to Will Graham (Hugh Dancy). Fans will recall that the cannibalistic serial killer left him bleeding in Baltimore back in season 2.

Graham will make his season 3 debut in the episode titled "Primavera," but it will not be easy for him to find what he is looking for.

The official synopsis for the episode states:

With his wounds now healed, Will Graham heads to Europe eight months after the horrific event that almost took his life, in search of closure with Hannibal Lecter. Following a hunch, Will arrives in Palermo, Italy to find a disturbing gift. Will's arrival draws suspicion from Inspector Rinaldo Pazzi (guest star Fortunato Cerlino), who twenty years earlier pursued a Florentine killer known as 'Il Mostro' and, after reading Will's file, believes that Hannibal Lecter and 'Il Mostro' are one and the same. Pazzi tries to enlist Will's help in catching Hannibal, but Will warns that he is unsure of where his own allegiance lies."

Does this mean that Graham's motives for hunting down Hannibal has changed?

According to series showrunner Bryan Fuller in an interview with Entertainment Weekly, the final episode of season 2 gave them the opportunity to change the dynamics of the characters and each one who managed to survive the fateful night has become a different person. In the case of Graham, his main motivation for seeking Hannibal is no longer revenge. Instead, he wants to find closure by forgiving Hannibal after everything that happened to him in the past because of the serial killer.

"Hannibal" season 3 episode 2 airs Thursday, June 11, on NBC.
