Acoustic Gospel Volume One, a gospel compilation CD featuring talented singers such as Brit Award nominee Rachel McFarlane and Oasis Award-winning artist Natalie Phillips, will release 12 December in the UK.

The 16 track album has already caught the attention of legendary UK vocalist Mica Paris, who has lauded the album as "excellent".

"I want to be on it," she expressed.

Akin Ogboye, CEO of Rockhill Music explained, "The Acoustic Gospel compilation features memorable songs, underpinned by great acoustic arrangements that highlight the beauty of the human voice. I believe it is a world-class album that uncovers some really great up and coming UK talents. We have tried to create a product with great songs that we hope will really strike a chord with the public."

He continued, "Acoustic Gospel Volume One is the first in a series of compilation albums that will be released by Rockhill Music over the next few years. The plan is to continue to combine mainstream artists with some great unknowns."

All profits from album sales will be donated to charities Oxfam, Save the Children, Lauriston Primary School, and Harrington Hill Primary School based in East London.

Hosted by Premier Radio presenter and gospel singer Muyiwa, the CD launch will be celebrated next Tuesday in London with special performances by artists featured in the album.

Wow an acoustic gospel album? That's interesting...
I've never imagined those two words (acoustic + gospel) together.
Sounds interesting... I wish I could go to the celebration launch!
