'Divergent: Allegiant — Part 1' update: Ansel Elgort finishes filming

Production for "The Divergent Series: Allegiant — Part 1" is still ongoing but actor Ansel Elgort has wrapped up all of his scenes for the film. In celebration, the actor has posted behind-the-scenes photos via Instagram, one of which includes a shirtless photo with lead actor Theo James.

He captioned it, "ITS A META"FOUR" #Allegiant we are WRAPPED! I know we'd all rather see theo shirtless I'm sorry."

James portrays Four in the film series, which is where the play on words in Elgort's caption comes from. It is also a play on Elgort's line from his other film "The Fault in Our Stars," which also starred Shailene Woodley. In the film, Elgort's character talks about the metaphorical meaning of having a cigarette without actually lighting it.

Other than posing with James, Elgort also took time to post photos with his stunt double as well as his hair dresser. Right after posting his shirtless photos with the cast and crew, his follow-up posts show him in production in the Nevada desert, presumably for the movie "November Criminal" where he plays the lead character Addison.

In the "Divergent" film series, Elgort plays Erudite Caleb Prior, brother to Woodley's Beatrice "Tris" Prior.

However, just because Elgort's scenes are done does not mean production for the film is complete. There are arguably other scenes to film, particularly those centering on the two leads, Woodley and James. Given that Caleb is still a major character at the end of the books which the series is based on, Elgort is expected to return when production for "Part 2" begins.

It is also important to note that his "finished" scenes are solely for Part 1 as the two parts of "Allegiant" are not being filmed back-to-back as other films, like "The Hunger Games" and "Twilight," have done with their final entries.

"The Divergent Series: Allegiant — Part 1" is expected to hit theaters by March 18, 2016. "Part 2" will be released on March 24, 2017.
