'Attack on Titan' season 2 release date subject to more delays; plot differs from manga

Fans of the famous post-disaster world anime "Attack on Titan" will surely be disappointed as some of the much newer reports indicate that the upcoming season 2 of the anime will be hit with a delay once again.

Originally, the sequel for "Attack on Titan" was supposed to be aired by this year, but by the way production looks right now, it's highly likely for the sequel to be pushed back even further. According to Game N Guide, it was revealed that this anime's second season will be having a new release date, which will be in January 2017.

The reason for this further delay is that the director of the anime is involved in other TV series as well as other film projects. Right now, Tetsuro Araki is currently busy with another anime series, "Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress." Furthermore, the producers of the series also points out the pace of the manga's development as another reason, since the anime needs more source material for it to progress further.

As such, a lot of reports indicate that the "Attack on Titan" producers plan to develop and implement a new plotline for this anime's second season. What it means is that the season will not be a sequel to the first one per se.

However, there might be a glimmer of hope for the fans since it's also possible that the second season will use the "Clash of the Titans" or "Uprising Arcs" as the featured storylines instead. But with no confirmation just yet, fans can only cross their fingers and hope for the best, since another popular anime, "Tokyo Ghoul," received a lot of negative feedback when its story deviated from the manga's plot.
