Android 4.4.4 KitKat OS update for Moto X causes battery drain problem

Latest reports claimed that the Android 4.4.4 Kitkat OS is draining the battery on the Moto X.

The Android 4.4.4 Kitkat OS for Moto X rolled out a few weeks ago. As a matter of fact, Motorola handsets were among the first handsets to receive the final update of the Android 4.4 Kitkat.

The Android 4.4.4 Kitkat OS update is supposed to bring improvements in camera and performance as well as the Visual Voicemail. Moreover, the software also offers security-related improvements, and stability fixes.

However, it seemed that it ended up bringing a fleet of new bugs and issues of its own. Moto X users took out their frustrations to the Motorola forums. However, it is still unconfirmed whether a similar situation will happen in other devices.

Motorola handsets such as DROID Maxx, DROID Ultra, and DROID Mini, Moto E, Moto G and Moto X were among the smartphones to receive the Android 4.4.4 Kitkat OS to their devices.

Other devices, such as HTC's M7 and M8, will receive the Android 4.4.4 Kitkat OS later this month or in August. Other HTC devices will follow suit in September. Other manufacturers have not revealed yet when they will roll out the new Android software.

If you are one of the waiting fans who wished to install the OS update. Go to the Settings of your Android-based smartphone to see if your handset received the Android 4.4.4 Kitkat OS. If you have not received the update, there is no need to worry as the roll out of the update is not at once. Some users may receive the notification over a few days.

Android 4.4.4 Kitkat OS update requires 285 MB of free space. When installing the software, ensure to have enough battery and strong internet connection.

Meanwhile, Android L OS is set to roll out in the fall alongside a new Google device.
