An advertising firm which has produced campaigns for Sony Playstation, Pringles, Ariel, Nike and Virgin Records, has been hired by Holy Trinity Church in Brompton, home to the Alpha course, to promote 7,000 courses that will start across the country this autumn.

It is the first time that the Church has advertised in national cinemas. The 60-second advertisement for the Alpha course is expected to be seen by over 2.4 million people visiting the cinemas this month.

“With an increasing number of young people in their 20s and 30s attending Alpha courses, cinema advertising is ideal for us to increase the profile of the course among those who are most interested,” Alpha UK director Rebecca Stewart said to the CoE Newspaper.

The Alpha course, launched in 1992, began with five courses. It has grown to have 30,000 courses across the world and 11.7 million people were reported to have attended last year.
