Best-selling Christian authors and broadcasters, Adrian and Bridget Plass, will embark on a UK-wide tour this week in support of the inter-denominational charity the Sailors' Society.

The tour, named the Woolly Hat Tour, will be starting at the Methodist Hall in Hull on 14 March and will see Adrian give his usual combination of thought-provoking speech and witty skits.

Joined by his wife, Bridget, the current programmes have taken on a more dramatic style, which provide insights into their daily lives through humour, poetry and story-telling.

Adrian's central motivation continues to be his love for Jesus, although some may feel he expresses it rather eccentrically. His passion is to communicate the need for reality in faith and a truth that he learned during a difficult stage in his life - 'God is nice and he likes me.'

Adrian and Bridget will also be talking about the importance of the Sailors' Society, both to Christians and the wider community, and will be joined by the Society's full-time Port Chaplain for Immingham, Rev David Coombe, who will be interviewed during the evening.

Rev Coombe visits ships that arrive at the Port of Immingham on a daily basis, providing ministry and practical support to lonely seafarers, regardless of faith, most of whom will have been away from home for many months at a time. He has many interesting and dramatic stories to tell of his encounters, and will share some through an interview during the evening.

The Woolly Hat Tour will raise vital funds and awareness of the Sailor Society's aims which are to replace the isolation felt by seafarers with a sense of belonging.
