The world today is a very chaotic place, what with all the bad news that's happening all around the globe. Great thing, however, is that no matter what happens, we who believe in Christ can have the peace that only He can give – a peace that is not like the peace that this world can give.

Christ's peace enabled Him to go through the fiery, painful, humiliating agony that He unjustly went through for our sakes. Hebrews 12:2 tells us that, "Because of the joy awaiting him, he endured the cross, disregarding its shame."

He went through all of it because He looked forward to the end result: salvation for all men, and God glorified.

Are you constantly bothered by worries about your present situations? Or are you perhaps confused as to what you're going to do, even in the midst of calm? Here are some perspectives that will help you attain peace.

1. Keep in Mind What Jesus Went Through for You

No matter what situation we face, when we compare what we are going through to the agony that the Lord Jesus Christ went through, we will find ourselves more blessed and showered with mercy. Thus, we should keep our eyes on Jesus, on what He did, and what His atoning sacrifice and resurrection achieved for us.

"We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus, the champion who initiates and perfects our faith. Because of the joy awaiting him, he endured the cross, disregarding its shame. Now he is seated in the place of honour beside God's throne. Think of all the hostility he endured from sinful people; then you won't become weary and give up." (Hebrews 12:2-3)

2. Remember That God Is Committed to Make Us More Like Christ Until The Time We See Him

Friend, every little thing that we go through has its purpose. Some of them are direct consequences of our sins or wrong choices, some of them unexpected and unplanned, but all of them are happening while we're in the hands of God, who is committed to making us more like Christ with each day.

Knowing this, we must then realise that all we ever go through is not for our destruction. God said in Jeremiah 29:11 that He doesn't plan to harm us. Rather, He wants to prosper us, give us hope and a future. And all these are meant to conform us to the image of Christ, His one and only Son (see Romans 8:28-30).

3. Remember That You Are Hidden With Christ in God, and the Evil One Cannot Touch You

Colossians 3:3 assures us that if we died with Christ, our lives are hidden in Him. 1 John 5:18 tells us that if we are God's children, we do not deliberately sin. It also tells us that the Son holds us securely, and because of that the evil one cannot touch us. Isn't that amazing?

Think about it: We are so secure in Christ! Nothing can ever separate us from the love of God in Him, and nothing formed against us will prosper. All that we need to do now is to do what God wants us to do with our lives.
