Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 certified in China? details and specs leaked

Xiaomi Redmi Note Xiaomi

According to a report from NDTV, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 has just passed certification at China's Quality Certification Centre. The listing also included the first look at the device's specs which were almost immediately leaked online.

As reported by Android Headlines, the phone will feature a 5.5-inch 1080p (1920 x 1080) full HD display and will run on either Anroid 5.0 or Android 5.1 with the customized MIUI OS working on top of this, giving the Redmi Note 2 a unique graphical interface.

The phone will also have a 13-megapixel rear camera, a 5-megapixel front camera, and a battery allegedly larger than 3,000 mAh. It is also said to feature TD-LTE support but it isn't definitive yet if this is just for one variant of the phone or if there will be another. For comparison, the Redmi Note 1 had a 3G version and a 4G LTE version.

NDTV claims that the phone will be powered by a Snapdragon 410 processor but Android Headlines states the leaked details point to a MediaTek Helio X10 64-bit octa-core processor instead, with a 2 or 3 GB RAM memory installed. The MediaTek Helio X10 is also listed by a report from the IBTimes.

Either way, this would make the Redmi Note 2 one of the more powerful mid-range smartphones in the market today. According to the report from Android Headlines, the Redmi Note and, in theory, the Redmi Note 2 are designed as powerful devices that are more affordable when compared to the rest of their competitors.

For people looking for a more expensive, more robust power-house smartphone, the company does offer the Redmi Note Pro and their flagship series which includes the upcoming Mi 5.

According to the IBTimes, Xiaomi has remained silent regarding the actual specs and design of the phone. They have neither denied nor confirmed if the specs leaked are the real specs of the device. The report does state that the new phone might be launched next month so fans won't have to wait much longer to find out.
