After its sales skyrocketed by 135 percent and becoming the number one smartphone maker in China, Xiaomi continues to turn heads with its latest line of devices. Recently, it took the wraps off its phablet smartphones dubbed as the Mi Note and the Mi Note Pro.

Xiaomi revealed the Mi Note and Mi Note Pro that boast specs that are at par with Apple's iPhone 6 Plus and Samsung's Galaxy Note 4 and Note Edge. This proves that Xiaomi is one serious competitor in the market.

Right now, a new device coined as Xiaomi Mi Note Plus was spotted in the AnTuTu benchmark. This hints that the Chinese tech firm is working on yet another device. Apart from the device's name, some of the specs and features were also revealed. The specifications are similar to the Mi Note Pro's.

The smartphone will feature a quad HD (1440 x 2560 pixels) screen resolution, octa-core Snapdragon 810 processor and Adreno 430 GPU, 13-megapixel cam, and Android 5.0 Lollipop OS. However, the screen size remained a secret, thus it is unknown which category it will head to.

There are speculations that the device is a tablet from the manufacturer, although some observers pointed out that it is quite rare for tablets to have a 16:9 aspect ratio.

Meanwhile, the Chinese manufacturer took everyone by surprise when it announced the Xiaomi Mi Note smartphone-tablet hybrid that measures 6.95 mm. This makes the smartphones one of the thinnest in the market, even thinner than the iPhone 6 Plus. Moreover, the device only weighs 161 grams, which is lighter than the iPhones and Galaxy Notes.

Xiaomi made history when it recorded $11.97 billion worth of sales in 2014, topping the charts in China. The smartphone maker also made a big jump in the worldwide market and now holds the fourth slot in mobile manufacturers ranking. According to Xiaomi's CEO Lei Jun, the company sold 61 million smartphones last year, which is a 227 percent jump from 2013.
