Fans will have the chance to try out Microsoft's upcoming console, the Xbox Project Scorpio, at the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) in June.
On Monday, Xbox Wire Editor-in-Chief Will Tuttle announced on their blog that Microsoft is going to have the Xbox Fanfest at the E3 event from June 11 to 13. The upcoming event is going to have a major change because unlike the previous ones, participants will be chosen through an online registration process where fans can reserve their slots ahead.
There will be 500 slots available, 400 of which are allocated on a first come first served basis. Meanwhile, the remaining 100 tickets are going to be distributed through different promotions and giveaways.
Starting Wednesday, April 19, at 9 a.m. EDT, fans can already reserve their online tickets. They must ensure that they carry a credit card and is above 21 years old to qualify. Also, interested fans must stay tuned to the official Twitter account of Xbox so that they are updated in case there are new announcements. There is no charge for reserving a slot, but participants must be sure of their schedule as there is a cancellation fee.
As for the details of the event, for the first day, June 11, at 5 p.m. EDT, the 500 participants will get to the Xbox E3 briefing in Los Angeles. They will also get a custom-built giveaway containing gaming swags. The following day, June 12, participants will get to have "early access" to Xbox's exclusive games, the Project Xbox Scorpio, and Microsoft's "biggest blockbuster games" at a private event.
Meanwhile, for those who are unable to get slots or join the Xbox Fanfest event, they may tune into the live stream of the event to be aired in different means, including Beam, Xbox One, Xbox 360, the Xbox Twitch Channel and Xbox.com on either desktop or mobile devices.
