As stated in a report from What Culture, there have been rumors that retired WWE veteran Kurt Angle, who has been more active in MMA in recent years, may be coming back to the company now that the WWE is splitting its brand back to the separate WWE RAW and WWE Smackdown divisions.

According to the report, Angle has spoken with WWE veteran Triple H about a potential return and when speaking on the "Mark Madden" show in Pittsburghe, Angle confirmed that it is only a matter of time before he returns to the WWE. Angle stated that it is just a matter of "when" and not "if."

Despite these statements, the report points out that the Wrestling Oberserver Newsletter publication has confirmed Angle will not be returning anytime soon and that he did not have any discussions regarding a special match for the brand split.

"A few wrestling sites seem to have put a spin on this by twisting some words around to fit their agenda, something that I have no control over," explained Kurt Angle to the publication. "What I can control is my own life, and my life isn't only wrestling. I do not expect to be in wrestling much longer. I am excited about my future. Thank you."

The former pro-wrestler and Olympic gold medalist also stated that while he had discussions with former wrestlers, the topic of the brand split has never taken place. While Angle may yet return to wrestling in the future it will not be for any matches taking place for the upcoming brand split.

What Culture states that Kurt Angle has been out of the WWE for a decade and his statements also confirm that it will be a long time before he ever returns to the world of wrestling, if he ever returns at all. The wrestler last fought in 2006 and had to leave due to health issues at the time. He would later move on to TNA wrestling and the UFC.
