World Cup 2014 Germany vs Argentina soccer [Finals preview video]

The World Cup Final 2014 will take place on Sunday and will see Germany and Argentina face off in the final of the biggest sporting event on earth for the third time. With the 1986 and 1990 finals between the pair being split with one victory each, both sides will want to get their noses in front by claiming the World Cup trophy again on Sunday.

Sunday's World Cup Final will kick off at 3 p.m. EST and will be broadcast on the ABC network. The game can also be watched online through live stream – free for subscribers – via the link provided below.

In six World Cup matches between Argentina and Germany, the Argentines have only won once, which was in the 1986 final, where they won 3-2.

Germany eliminated Argentina in the 2006 and 2010 World Cups, and also of course defeated their rivals 1-0 in the 1990 World Cup Final in Italy.

Over the six World Cup games between the pair, Germany have won three times compared to Argentina's sole win, and there have been two draws. One of those draws was in the quarter-final of the 2006 World Cup, which of course, Germany went on to win on penalties.

Argentina will remember four years ago, losing 4-0 to Germany in the quarter-finals as well, which was their biggest defeat in the tournament since 1974.

Germany (and West Germany) have featured in the World Cup Final seven times, and this will be their record eighth appearance. In their previous seven Finals they have won three and lost four.

If they win today, Germany would equal Italy as the second most successful World Cup nation ever, with four wins. Brazil have the best record with five World Cup wins.

Sunday's final will kick off at 3 p.m. EST and can be watched online by clicking here.
