'Wonder Woman' movie news - Diana Prince may have a tiger as a sidekick

Actress Connie Nelson, who will be portraying Queen Hippolyta in the "Wonder Woman" movie, recently revealed via Instagram that American boxer Ann Wolfe may be in the movie. That wasn't all she had to share though as a report from Comic Book reveals she also teased the appearance of a real tiger in the movie.

Unfortunately, the posts have been taken down.

As stated in the report, this comes as a surprise as the idea for a tiger to be included was a concept drawn back during the early days of the film's development. This was back when Michelle MacLaren was still set to direct the film. When Patty Jenkins stepped up to be the movie's director after MacLaren's departure it was assumed the idea for a tiger sidekick was scrapped as well.

Screen Rant points out that in the comic books Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot) does have the ability to calm and befriend even the largest and most ferocious of beasts. This would make it reasonable for her to have a tiger sidekick during her time in Themyscira.

However, given that the rest of the movie will be outside the island of Themyscira and will place Wonder Woman right in the middle of World War I, it is unsure if she will be bringing her tiger along with her as it may cause concern when she travels to and fro in the regular world.

The report from Screen Rant also points out that the tiger, if it indeed appears in the movie, may not even be a sidekick but merely another wild animal to boost the exotic atmosphere of Themyscira. It is possible that the tiger may have befriended Wonder Woman on the island but will not be joining her in her adventures.

"Wonder Woman" will open in theaters on June 2, 2017.
