Microsoft will be launching its new Windows 10 operating system later this year, and since it boasts a unified interface wherein it will allow desktops and handheld devices to work seamlessly together, there has been plenty of speculations on which future smartphones would run the still unannounced mobile version of the software.

One upcoming Windows-based smartphone allegedly comes from LG. A device with code number LG VW820 is reportedly heading to Verizon Wireless. MyLGPhones spotted the smartphone in an unnamed document that apparently leaked online. The document also suggests that Verizon is the buyer of the smartphone, which means that it will be the carrier that will offer the device.

This is not the first time that the smartphone with the aforementioned code number was seen. The same smartphone was seen in Ad Duplex Windows Phone Statistics Report in December. According to the report, aside from a Windows OS, the handset will feature a 4.7-inch screen display with 480 × 854 pixel resolution. Other details of the smartphone remain unknown however. This kills the hopes that the handset could be a variant of the rumored LG G4.

Meanwhile, the same publication previously reported that the LG G4 will head to the three major mobile carriers in its home court in South Korea, backed up by a snippet of a leaked XML file. Based on the leaked file, the LG G4 will have LG-F500S, LG-F500K and LG-F500L versions. The suffixes in the model number pertain to the carriers.

LG's flagship smartphone is rumored to pack features such as a 5-inch quad HD screen display, Qualcomm's Snapdragon 810 processor, bigger RAM, Android 5.0 Lollipop OS, 16- to 20-megapixel rear shooter and longer battery life.

While some reports point to the imminent Mobile World Congress as the launching platform of the handset, an unnamed LG executive debunked the rumored release date in a statement it made on Korean news source, The Chosun Ilbo. The official said that the company is currently "perfecting" the smartphone.

"We rolled out the G3 in May last year so we do not plan to unveil the G4 at this year's Mobile World Congress and spend more time perfecting the new phone," the executive said.
