"Wentworth" season 5 is going to be a very different sort of show now that Bea (Danielle Cormack) is no longer returning, given that the character was suddenly killed off during the season 4 finale. Actress Kate Jenkinson, who portrays Bea's lover, Allie Novak, has spoken up about the event and how season 5 moves on.

Jenkinson addressed in an interview with After Ellen that she was just as shocked as the fans were when she first found out that Bea was getting killed off in the show. She then stated that one of the main problems she was trying to figure out was how the series would continue in season 5 without one of the main characters.

In the end, she explained that it was Danielle Cormack herself who helped Jenkinson realize the long-term effects of the decision to kill off Bea and what it would mean for the show. Because of this, she explained that she got a better understanding of whether or not this was a good decision to do.

"I feel like it's a very very bold move for any show to make," she stated. The actress then went on to say: "I feel like it's quite fitting because the world is not safe. The 'Wentworth' world is not safe. No one is safe, even if you're top dog. Even if you're the central character. So I think it's a really brave choice for the producers to have made. And we'll see. We'll see what the outcome of that is."

She also confirmed that season 5 is underway and entering production. However, she could not spoil any details regarding how the plot goes, which of the characters are coming back, who is new, and what directions season 5 is taking with the death of one of the main characters.

"Wentworth" season 5 is expected to premiere in May 2017, although SoHo TV has yet to announce an official premiere date.
