'WarCraft 4' updates: Blizzard to consider revisiting 'WarCraft' after 'StarCraft II'

With all the remakes coming out of the woodwork, people would think that game developers would jump straight on the bandwagon. Not Blizzard, though. The company seems to be taking its time in creating "Warcraft 4."

GameRant reports that Blizzard has at least given a sliver of hope for the future of "WarCraft." The article says that some fans of the franchise were alienated by the move to "World of Warcraft," so this might be a way to appease gamers.

It was during the Gamescom 2015 that producer Tim Morten intimated to IGN what he sees about the future of the Blizzard RTS. After the team made a successful launch of "StarCraft II: Legacy of the Void," he mentioned that the team might eventually revisit the "Warcraft" franchise, but not yet — it might happen after the "StarCraft II" story is done, according to the article.

"It's very rewarding for us to hear that there's demand out there for more RTS content in the Warcraft universe so once we're done with Void I think we'll get together as a team and talk about what would inspire us to work on next," Morten said. "There's no question, though, that we'll consider Warcraft, StarCraft, or even new ideas. Anything is possible."

This is a good thing to people who are pining for the good 'ol days. The "WarCraft" franchise had previously found its luck rooted to the RTS genre, and despite the success of "WoW" and its continued dominance, a look back will do good for the versatility of the series.

With the number of people expecting a "WarCraft 4" to happen, Blizzard might give in and finally make it happen for the fans.
