iPhone 7 release date: 2 variants coming in September

There could be two different versions of the iPhone 7 Plus being released this September.

That's the latest prediction made by KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo in a note that was subsequently obtained by Apple Insider.

Kuo predicts that Apple will continue the trend that they have started with the iPhone 6's debut, but this time, the analyst also said that the tech giant may be throwing a bit of a wrinkle into their release plans.

According to Kuo, the two iPhone 7 Plus will feature different camera settings upon being released.

One of the phones will reportedly sport the single imager setup, while the other will have the dual-camera design.

The dual-camera setup is one feature that has long been rumored for the iPhone line but has thus far remained absent, according to Value Walk. If Kuo's prediction proves to be accurate, then the wait for the dual-camera setup may finally be ending this September when the two variants of the iPhone 7 Plus are rumored to be launched.

The dual-camera setup would reportedly allow the phone to perform better particularly in low-light situations, making it a potentially significant addition.

Aside from the two variants of the iPhone 7 Plus, Apple is also expected to launch the standard version of their new smartphone in September as well, although there's no word yet on whether this will also sport the dual-camera setup.

If Kuo's predictions regarding the iPhone 7 Plus prove to be accurate, then that could mean that Apple will be releasing four new products in 2016.

Apart from the three that have already been mentioned, Apple is also reportedly looking to launch a device that would be known either as the iPhone 5SE or 6C sometime in March, according to The Week UK.

The next few months figure to be very busy for Apple, and they may all be building up to the launch of the new iPhone 7 line.
