Colin Farrell wishes to meet with co-actor Vince Vaughn to discuss their roles to deliver a better performance.

It seems that Farrell is worried about the superb performance of the previous "True Detective" pair of Woody Harrelson and Mathew McConaughey. Both actors received Outstanding Lead Actor Emmy nominations for their roles in the series while the show earned an Outstanding Drama nomination. A lot of people doubt that the second season of the hit TV series will be able to surpass the ratings received by the show during its first run. Harrelson and McConaughey brought honor to the show, which further adds pressure to the new actors cast for the second season of the series.

After months of speculations and a lot of names that surfaced, HBO confirmed that Farrell and Vaughn bagged the lead roles of the show.  Farrell will play the role of Ray Velcoro who is a detective working for the police department and a mobster, while Vaughn will play the role of Frank Semyon, a career criminal at the end of his career who decides to go straight but is upset by the murder of a business partner.

Farrell confirmed that the second season of "True Detective" will feature eight episodes coinciding with previous reports, and filming will take place in Los Angeles. However, showrunner Nic Pizzolatto said in his previous interview that he crossed L.A. off the list and will go for a less famous town in California to avoid large groups and crowds on filming sites.

"I've only read half of the eight episodes. It's phenomenal writing, strong writing. It's all there on the page. Nic Pizzolatto has done an incredible job creating this new world that is a separate time and separate place and has a completely new array of characters than the first season," Farrell told Chicago Tribune.
