After a controversial un-cancellation earlier this year, filming for "Timeless" season 2 will be kicking off this November. What will happen to the famous Time Team?

Season 1 saw Jiya (Claudia Doumit) having mysterious seizures that gave her flashes of different eras, a result of being the fourth passenger of the Lifeboat, which was supposed to carry only three. Her boyfriend Rufus Carlin (Malcolm Barrett) was definitely not happy. Season 2 will see him trying to nurse her back to health while plotting his revenge against Rittenhouse, the root of all evil in the series.

In an interview with TV Insider, "Timeless" producer Shawn Ryan explained that Jiya's flashback episodes in the previous season will allow her story to grow in season 2.

"We liked Claudia from the get-go, and as we began giving her more stuff to do and the relationship between Jiya and Rufus grew, she's become a bit of a fan favorite," he said.

Season 2 will also put Lucy Preston (Abigail Preston) on the other side of Team Time after she discovered that she is next in line at Rittenhouse. One of the first season's biggest shockers was that her mother, Carolyn Preston (Susanna Thompson), was a Rittenhouse senior. Ryan said this revelation will help "streamline and focus" the show.

Back in May, NBC canceled "Timeless" due to the series' low viewership of only 4.6 million and 1.1 share average. Despite the low audience average, however, the show found a very special and loyal niche. The announcement of the show's cancellation was succeeded by hours of #Timeless trending on social media, with netizens clamoring for another season.

In a dramatic turn of events that probably had NBC wanting to turn back time, the network reversed its decision and renewed "Timeless" for a 10-episode season 2.

"Timeless" is slated to return to the small screen in 2018.
