'The Walking Dead' season 7 episode 3 spoilers: Daryl seen being tortured by Negan in new trailer

Norman Reedus as Daryl Dixon in "The Walking Dead" AMC

On the season 7 premiere of "The Walking Dead," Daryl Dixon (Norman Reedus) was taken hostage by Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) and his Saviors. Episode 2 did not delve into his condition, but this will change in episode 3, titled "The Cell," as it focuses entirely on Daryl's perspective.

The official teaser trailer for the episode reveals that he is now being held captive in The Sanctuary, the main base of Negan and his Saviors. Daryl is no longer in his black biker clothing, and he is now wearing something more akin to a prisoner's uniform that has a large letter A sprawled on it.

Other prisoners are then shown, and each one of them is wearing a similar outfit but with different letters marked on them.

Dwight (Austin Amelio) is also shown but it is hinted that he and Negan are not seeing things eye-to-eye. It is widely speculated that Negan may be considering kicking Dwight out and keeping Daryl as his new right-hand man. In the original comics, Negan also got close to one of the main characters, but it was Carl (Chandler Riggs), given that Daryl was not in the graphic novels.

Negan is shown putting his own Saviors on the ground and having them kneel in front of him. At another point, Dwight is shown with an angry expression, hinting he may not agree with the way Negan is managing him and his allies.

In another portion of the trailer, a different person, a female, is shown telling Daryl that whatever Negan has done, it is not the end as there is always more. This indicates that Negan's evil plans are much deeper than what has been shown thus far, and this further teases that Daryl is going to be kept until he can take over Dwight's role.

"The Walking Dead" season 7 episode 3 is scheduled to air on Nov. 6.
