'The Walking Dead' season 6B spoilers, plot news: Negan rumored to kill Maggie?

"The Walking Dead" season 6 episode 12, "Not Tomorrow Yet," ended with Maggie (Lauren Cohan) and Carol (Melissa McBride) getting captured by the Saviors outside their camp. According to a report from Cinema Blend, this may be an indication that Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) will eventually kill Maggie instead of her husband.

In the original comic books, Negan uses his baseball bat, affectionately named Lucille, and kills Glenn by bashing his head in. Episode 12 revealed several photographs of Negan's former victims, indicating that this is indeed going to happen on the show, but the report indicates it won't happen to Glenn.

The report points out that Cohan has been spotted with her hair cut, an indication that she is no longer contractually obligated to retain her look from the show. A report from Vanity Fair also points this out and speculates that Maggie may be killed off soon.

For most cases, this may mean nothing but in the case of Maggie it becomes a bigger clue, particularly now that someone similar to Maggie has been killed off in the comics.

Another possibility is Maggie being killed similar to how Holly died in the comic books. Holly, a character not from the show, was captured by Negan. When Negan gave her back, she was wearing a hood. Denise (Merritt Wever) took the hood off, only to discover Holly was now a walker. Holly eventually killed Denise.

The report also points out that Maggie has been under the spotlight for some time, an indication that something plot-related may unfold surrounding her character. Carol did not want Maggie joining the fight not only for her safety but also because she believed Maggie to be the best of them all, someone who could bring light in a post-apocalyptic world.

Killing off Maggie would crush all of their hope and may be the more devasting death compared to Glenn's, sparking the war between Alexandria and the Sanctuary.
