'The Vampire Diaries' season 6 spoilers: Ian Somerhalder confirms appearance for next season

Actor Ian Somerhalder confirmed that he will appear on the sixth season of "The Vampire Diaries" as he leaked a photo of his post-production work for the show.

In the past, Ian Somerhalder is very active in updating the fans of "The Vampire Diaries" in the progress of the show as well as leaking some photos pertaining to the show. Recently, the actor posted a photo in his Instagram account showing that he was working on the post production of "The Vampire Diaries".

The caption reads: "Wow, it's started! This is a screen shot, I'll probably get in trouble for it;) from the 1st episode. Hmmm, who am I talking to??? Here I am, doing some post production work on Season 6 of The Vampire Diaries with our INCREDIBLE post-production team. The post production team on this show is second to none- they, like our crew are the unsung heroes of the stories on screen that get seen by you! If anything please thank these amazing people and show them some love! Thank you! Love, Ian."

The photo showed the scene right after the Project Kaboom, and it seemed that Damon was still sitting in a car with Bonnie. It is still unconfirmed how many episodes Damon will appear in. Previous reports claimed that the actor will exit the shows next season.

Meanwhile, the premiere episode of "The Vampire Diaries" is entitled "I'll Remember" and will show what happened to Stefan (Paul Wesley) after the major incident of the "Other Side" that allegedly cost the life of his brother Damon and Bonnie.

CW released a spoiler photo of the first episode of the upcoming season showing Caroline engaged in a conversation with Stefan. It seemed that Caroline will admit her romantic feelings toward him, but he will dismiss this as he is in the midst of grieving and soul searching, brought about the sudden disappearance of his brother. Elena will also struggle to get over the loss of her lover.

"The Vampire Diaries" season 6 will be back on air on October 2 at 8 pm EST on CW Network.
