The latest rumors on the sixth season of "The Vampire Diaries" claimed that Damon Salvatore will not come back next season and Elena will be forced to start over.

The final episode of the previous season of "The Vampire Diaries" showed the alleged deaths of Damon (Ian Somehalder) and Bonnie (Kat Graham) after they went on with their Project Kaboom to put a halt on The Other Side.

The fifth season of TVD showed a very shocking finale. However, TVD executive producer Julie Plec initially confirmed that Damon and Bonnie will be back in one form or another next season. The show runner did not leak any hint on how the two will appear in the series next season.

The executive producer's latest statements suggested that Damon may not come back next season. It may be that Damon will merely appear next season as a memory or in flashback.

The theme for season 6 is for everyone to move on and start over. Season 6 of TVD will veer away from the extravagant productions to top the previous season. It will be a time to bring it back to the beginning, Julie Plec said to Hollywood Reporter.

In a separate interview, Plec told TV Line that it is sad to see a young, vibrant woman take her life. Julie added that she is a believer of pulling yourself together and moving on with your life. This denied the earlier rumors that Elena will die. She will most likely move on and find another love being the heroine of the show.

This suggested that Elena may have to continue living without her beloved Damon. "The Vampire Diaries" season 6 will be back on air on Oct. 2 at 8/7 on The CW.
