'The Sims 4' DLC release date rumors: New city-themed DLC may have leaked online

 Electronic Arts, Maxis

"The Sims 4" recently saw the "Get Together" and "Dine Out" DLC packs, and according to a report from Neurogadget, the game is going to get one more DLC pack some time soon. According to the report, it is possible that the game will be getting a city-based DLC although Electronic Arts and Maxis have yet to officially announce it.

The report continues to explain that a Brazilian rating website had listed a new expansion for the game titled "The Sims 4: Viva na Cidade." The phrase roughly translates to "The Sims 4: City Life" in English, hinting that the DLC will focus on bringing a modern city setting to the game, allowing Sims to visit downtown areas like the city's main street or shopping mall.

Unfortunately, screenshots of the DLC pack have been taken down and fans speculate that this is proof that the leaked content is real since Electronic Arts would want to keep the DLC a secret until they officially announce it along with a release date.

Due to legal distribution methods in Brazil, the report explains that Electronic Arts will need to make an announcement soon or else the site will post the information about the DLC pack once again, with or without EA's permission. It is speculated that a formal announcement will be made by Sept. 17.

It is further speculated that the DLC may bring in apartments, allowing Sims to live right in the middle of a city where they can interact with other apartment tenants and roam the main city similar to how locales were visited in "The Sims 3." Local city establishments may also be introduced, blending with other DLC such as "Dine Out" to further flesh the city's environments.

Electronic Arts and Maxis have not yet confirmed nor denied any of the rumors and the leaks regarding the new DLC and as such the information should be taken as pure speculation until proven otherwise.
