According to series creator Bruno Heller, "The Mentalist" will be back for its seventh and final season and will be action-packed.

Reports added that Michelle Vega will clash with Patrick Jane due to their differences in methods. Michelle Vega is known to practice according to the books and is someone who would do anything to impress her superiors, which will definitely clash with Patrick Jane's unorthodox ways of doing things.

Meanwhile, "The Mentalist" season 7 will include a short time jump. According, to the spoiler chat, the seventh season will come back two weeks after Patrick kissed Teresa and confessed his feelings for her.

The seventh and final season of the series is reported to have a short 13 episodes compared to the previous seasons. For the plot of the series finale, predictions claimed that the storyline for next season will center on the personal relationship of its main protagonist, Patrick Jane. At the end of season 6, Patrick Jane finally admitted his personal feelings to Teresa Lisbon.

Filming for the seventh and final season of "The Mentalist" resumed early and signaled that the premiere of the popular TV series will hit the small screen soon. Until now, CBS has not confirmed the premiere date. It was speculated that the series would be back in midseason. However, production is currently underway and the cast and crew are back to work.
