'The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild' release date news: Temple of Time returns

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild Nintendo

One of the most highly anticipated games for 2017 is "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild," which will launch for both the Wii U and the upcoming Nintendo NX. Nintendo has allowed a few players to experience a playable demo during this year's recent E3 and the company has now released a teaser clip showcasing a ruined Temple of Time.

The Temple of Time has always been portrayed as a sacred area in the "Legend of Zelda" games. It is where the Door of Time lays and is the gateway to the Golden Land where the powerful Triforce can be found. It is also the most common resting place of the Master Sword, the sword every generation of Link has used to defeat the enemy.

As noted by a report from Polygon, the Temple of Time in the video appears to be in complete ruins and is in an even worse state that how it appeared in "The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess" and "The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker."

It is also noted in the report that in "The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time" the Temple of Time was located just beside Hyrule's Castle Town but the new video clip showcases it is now located the Shrine of Resurrection and the Great Plateau.

At this point it is uncertain as to what the temple's role will be in the game and Polygon points out that "Breath of the Wild" is going to be such an open-game that players can finish the game without ever seeing the full story or exploring every nook and cranny of its world.

"The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild" is scheduled to release for both the Wii U and NX in 2017 although the report points out that it is uncertain whether it will be a launch title for the NX or if it will release a few months after.
