Elizabeth Banks admitted that the upcoming installment of "The Hunger Games" trilogy lightly strayed away from the book version, especially with her character as Effie Trinket.

Capitol-born-and-bred Effie Trinket is the official escort for the tributes of District 12, Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence) and Peeta Mellark (Josh Hutcherson). In the third book "Mockingjay," Effie does not make much appearance after Katniss is brought to District 13. It is only later in the story that the character makes a reappearance.

Effie fans wil be delighted to know that the movie version of the character gets more time in the limelight than the book counterpart.

Talking to E! News, Elizabeth Banks revealed that author Suzanne Collins and director Francis Lawrence decided to include her character more in the film adaptation. Banks said that she was thrilled with the news that she gets to go to District 13, and be of assistance to Katniss a little longer.

She also dished out some spoilers about her character in the upcoming film. She said that Effie Trinket will struggle in her stay in District 13.  Being a citizen of the Capitol and known for donning crazy outfits, she will have to adapt to the plain, grey uniform that everyone wears in the District.

"Effie really is a fish out of water in District 13 and they do not have anywhere near the resources that the Capitol does," said Banks.  "So Effie really finds herself having to what I like to call 'Project Runway her way' through the wardrobe that's given to everyone. Everyone gets sort of standard wardrobe in District 13 and she of course has to put her own twist on everything ... she can make anything fabulous."

Elizabeth Banks finished her last day of filming for "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay" ahead of other characters. She said that she loved her character.

"It was a sad day and I wrapped on a day when no one else did. It was really sort of lonely and depressing," she said.
