Robbie Amell portrayed Ronnie Raymond back in "The Flash" season 1 as the second half of the hero Firestorm. Unfortunately, he died during the season 1 finale to save Central City, and the actor only appeared in season 2 as the villainous Earth-2 doppelganger. Amell now reveals he may be returning to the show soon.
Speaking to Comic Book, the actor had been asked by fans if the "Flashpoint" story would bring back Earth-1 Ronnie Raymond from the dead.
"Well the nice thing is when you're dead in that universe there is always another Earth, but I think that version ,Earth-1, of Ronnie is dead because he sacrificed himself to save the city, but you know there is always Earth-3, Earth-4, Earth-5," he responded. When asked if he would appear on the show soon he stated: "I hope so!"
The actor reportedly had a smirk on his face, teasing that he was not giving the full details and that he may indeed be coming back during season 3. However, if he does come back, it is likely to be a Ronnie Raymond from a different Earth.
Allowing different versions of a character to appear on the show has happened multiple times. Harrison Wells (Tom Cavanagh) has been portrayed three different times, from Earth-1, Earth-2, and Earth-19. During their search for a new leader, the team also met numerous versions of Harrison Wells before settling on the one from Earth-19.
Cartermatt reports that the show may introduce Ronnie Raymond from Earth-3 and that this iteration of the character may be friends with Jay Garrick aka the Flash of Earth-3 (John Wesley Shipp).
It is important to note that The CW has yet to confirm if Ronnie is indeed coming back on the show and if his return will be during season 3, or if it is being planned for a future season.
