'The Flash' season 3 spoilers: Mirror Master confirmed to be new villain

Sam Scudder aka Mirror Master DC Comics

According to a report from Comic Book Resources, actor Grey Damon has been cast as the villain Mirror Master. There have been several people to don the moniker of Mirror Master but the show is reportedly going with the original Mirror Master from the comic books, Sam Scudder.

"One of the Flash's most infamous Rogues, Sam Scudder - aka Mirror Master - is a smooth criminal with a huge ego. Upon discovering he now has the power to travel through any reflective surface, Scudder embarks on a massive crime spree to prove himself the greatest thief that Central City has ever seen," reads the official description.

As stated in a report from Screen Rant, Mirror Master has other powers beyond traveling through mirrors. He can become invisible, hypnotize, create holograms and even travel and communicate between dimensions. It is uncertain at this point which of these powers from the comic book will also carry over to the live-action series.

TVLine also reports that in some of the comic books Mirror Master even sparks a romantic relationship with a fellow villain, Lisa Snart aka the Golden Glider (Peyton List). Given that Lisa has been introduced in the series there is a possibility of this relationship taking place on the show.

Fans of the short-lived fantasy series on CW, "Star-Crossed" will already be familiar with Grey Damon as he portrayed the character Grayson Montrose. He was also Hastings Ruckle for "Friday Night Lights" and is currently playing Detective Brian Shafe on NBC's series, "Aquarius."

The report further states that Mirror Master will make his debut appearance on "The Flash" season 3 episode 4 which is speculated to air by late October or early November. Given that the "Flashpoint" storyline will only be tackled for a short period of time it is uncertain if Mirror Master will be in the "Flashpoint" timeline or in the post-"Flashpoint" timeline.

"The Flash" season 3 premieres this Oct. 4.
