'The Blacklist' season 3 spoilers: Liz chooses between Red and Tom in episode 12

 NBC

The previous episode of "The Blacklist" season 3 ended with a shocking cliffhanger: Elizabeth Keen (Megan Boone) is pregnant and episode 12, "The Vehm," will see Liz deal with the only two choices presented in front of her. As shown in the promo trailer, both Reddington (James Spader) and Tom (Ryan Eggold) will give her an offer.

Reddington, as in the previous episode, warns her of going with Tom. The latter recently just proposed to Liz and Reddington warns her that he cannot protect her if she runs away from the Cabal. Tom, on the other hand, wants to keep Liz and their child away from the dangerous life of working with the FBI and fighting numerous criminals.

It is important to note that this storyline does coincide with actres Boone's real-life pregnancy. The series has been able to write her pregnancy into the show, although it hasn't been indicated yet if the actress will take a few episodes off later on or if the production has been able to shoot the rest of the series before she needs to take leave.

As Liz continues to struggle with running with Tom or continuing her life as an agent working hand-in-hand with Reddington, she will be busy dealiing with yet another ancient criminal organization, this time with a group that dates as far back as the Middle Ages and is known only as the Holy Vehm.

The official synopsis for the episode from Cartermatt, one of Reddington's associates is murdered by an ancient, Medieval Age torture device and this prompts him to alert the task force of the Vehm's resurgence. Once again he'll be teaming with the FBI and with Liz to stop the group before they can make another assassination attempt.

It is widely speculated that the dangers encountered in this episode will help Liz decide whether or not she'll stick with Red or if she will indeed run off with Tom.

"The Blacklist" season 3 episode 12, "The Vehm," airs this Jan. 28.
