If the leaked script is to be believed, "Terminator: Genisys" will be the outset of a trilogy, with a whole new timeline set up for the events meant to come to light in the resurgence of the wildly popular science fiction franchise. Longtime fans of the original films can only hope it will come down to that.

The Internet is abuzz with speculations and expectations about the plotline the hotly-anticipated movie will go for. To put some rumors to rest, the leaked script confirms that "Terminator 5" will push the reset button of the franchise.

The film promises not to mess up the original set of "Terminator" films so as to not disappoint and confuse the franchise's following that sprung up way back in 1980 when the first "Terminator" film came out. While that remains debatable, what's set in stone for "Terminator: Genisys" is that it will feature more haphazard time travel than ever. Furthermore, the film, being new, will welcome not one but two Terminators.

But that is not the crazy part. The more interesting bit is that Arnold Schwarzenegger will engage in a massive throwdown against a younger T-800 model that was sent to murder John Connor. Furthermore, the script addresses the aged Terminator as "The Guardian," who takes care of Sarah Connor and eventually grows old being her protector.

The script also reveals that "Terminator: Genisys" will leave moviegoers craving for more with a big cliffhanger set up at the end of the film. This cliffhanger, according to rumors, is the age-old Terminator melting into liquid form. Other rumors about the story of the latest of the sci-fi movie lineup include a villainous John Connor.

"Terminator: Genisys" is scheduled to come out on July 1. As for the rest of the trilogy, the sequel is slated for a May 2017 premiere while the third one is set in June 2018.
