Other entertainers that have been recurring in the sports event include Lady Gaga, Coldplay, Beyonce, Bruno Mars, Katy Perry, Madonna, The Who, Bruce Springsteen and The Street Band, Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers, Prince, Paul McCartney, The Rolling Stones, and U2.

As one of the year's most watched musical event, the Super Bowl halftime show has always showcased artists at the pinnacle of their careers. Since Timberlake has been identified as an icon in the music industry, thanks to his boy band days with N'Sync. The artist is a respected figure in the music scene, which would one of the reasons why he was chosen to perform at the prestigious stage for the third time.

Timberlake's vocal prowess range from pop to ballad and even rock. One of his most recent projects was lending his voice to the "Trolls" character, Branch. His self-composed song for the movie "Can't Stop the Feeling," stayed at the Billboard for 16 weeks.

As to what Timberlake will be performing, fans are told to follow his journey to Super Bowl LII by logging on to Pepsi.com, where hints will be dropped from time to time.

Fourteen years ago, Timberlake performed with Janet Jackson where the performance went awry when the latter experienced a wardrobe malfunction. However, both Timberlake and Jackson have moved on from the incident but fans are still demanding both artists for a proper public apology.

The event will take place on Feb. 4 2018, and Timberlake will performing alone. Nonetheless, his fans will be expecting a great show.
