One of the great news announced at the Sony's PlayStation Experience event in Las Vegas was that "Street Fighter 5" will be released exclusively to PlayStation 4 and PC.  Capcom announced that "Street Fighter 5" is still in the works and is being tailored specifically for PS4. The new game will also feature cross-platform multiplayer.

"PlayStation 4 will be the only console Street Fighter 5 ever appears on. Street Fighter 5 will be built from the ground up for PlayStation. We partnered with Capcom on the development of Street Fighter 5, we're working together to make Street Fighter the ideal game for console," said Adam Boyes, VP, Publisher & Developer Relations of Sony Computer Entertainment.

Executive producer of Capcom's "Street Fighter" series Yoshinori Ono also said that they reached out to PlayStation when they began working on the next "Street Fighter." He added that the combined strength of Capcom and PlayStation will match the passion of the players.

He also assured that the new version of the fighting game will not be "pay-to-win." More details about the "Street Fighter 5" are about to be disclosed at the Capcom Cup 2014 event in San Francisco on Dec. 13.

It is quite a shock that the forthcoming "Street Fighter 5" will be released in a limited platform, especially when "Street Fighter 4" sold 8 million copies after its release across different platforms. This could be a tool to boost the sales of PS4 consoles since reports claim that Xbox One is more popular than Sony's console.

Aside from "Street Fighter 5," Sony's third party production team will also release the new "Ultra Street Fighter 4" exclusively for PlayStation 4. Meanwhile, the most recent "Street Fighter" game released in 2009 is available for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC.
