"Steven Universe" season 4 has been on hiatus since Sept. 15. However, that hiatus is about to end this November as episodes 8 and 9 are being combined into one long, 30-minute episode. It just so happens that this episode is "Gem Harvest," one that has been pushed back for quite some time now.
As per a report from iTech Post, the episode had been delayed so many times that fans began to suspect it might not even be real. However, the first teaser clip had been shown during the New York Comic-Con, and it shows Steven, Peridot, and Lapis Lazuli as they bring a pumpkin to life.
In the video, Peridot and Lapis point out that the pumpkin doesn't want to get close to them. It is later revealed that Steven was the one responsible for bringing the pumpkin to life, and this may be why it has a special attachment to him, similar to how newborn birds can immediately sense their mothers.
However, Peridot and Lapis show that they did try to bring a different pumpkin to life. Unfortunately, their attempt was unsuccessful, and the pumpkin that lacks a face is not active. Steven then takes a spade and begins carving the pumpkin, giving it a face.
This segment is portrayed with horror as the now-sentient pumpkin, which previously adored Steven, starts to resent him for the way Steven brutally carved the other vegetable. The sentient pumpkin then barks at Steven and clings to Peridot and Lapis.
"Gem Harvest" is not going to be accompanied by other episodes, and it will not be part of another Steven Bomb. Instead, the follow-up episode, "Three Gems and a Baby," will air on Dec. 1. It is speculated that "Three Gems and a Baby" is going to open a new Steven Bomb and that it will be partnered with several more episodes.
