Rumors are flying, claiming that Sony will stick to its previous release platform and will announce the Xperia Z4 at the Mobile World Congress in March after the alleged smartphone got certified in the U.S. and Japan.

Reports state that the Sony Xperia Z4 got certified in Japan with model numbers PM-0792-BV, PM-0793-BV, and PM-0794-BV corresponding to each Japanese carrier. Unfortunately, the certification did not reveal any detail regarding the smartphone.

After spotting the certification in Japan, there are doubts whether the smartphone will go on sale outside its home court. Then, an FCC from the United States was spotted online that hints on the company's plan of putting the device on sale in the U.S. like its predecessors. And just like the Japanese certification, the FCC filing did not reveal much detail about the smartphone except that it will support LTE bands 2, 5, and 7. Nonetheless, this means that the Sony Xperia Z4 is already on its way for its rumored imminent release.

While the certifications did not leak any of the specifications of the smartphone, it is purported that the Sony Xperia Z4 will come in two variants with two different screen resolutions. According to the grapevine, it will sport a 5.5-inch screen panel with quad HD (2560 x 1440 pixels) and full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) resolutions, which consumers can choose from.

Under the hood, the smartphone is predicted to pack the latest Qualcomm octa-core Snapdragon 810 SoC with 4 GB of RAM and will run with the latest Android 5.0 Lollipop OS. It will also be equipped with a 21-megapixel Exmor IMX230 camera sensor and a 3.2-megapixel MP front-facing camera, and a 3300 mAh battery.

The Sony Xperia Z4 is predicted not to be the sole smartphone to be announced on its press conference at the MWC as it could be joined by the Z4 Compact, the Z4 Ultra, and its tablet variants, although this is not yet confirmed by the Japanese OEM manufacturer.
