Sony Xperia Z3, Z3 Compact specs leaked; handsets pack top-of-the-line features

The specs of Sony Xperia Z3 and its miniature version, Z3 Compact, have leaked online. The leak showed that the handsets pack top-of-the-line features.

While Sony is busy rolling out the Android 4.4.4 version of the Kitkat OS, there is no stopping the leaks pertaining to the company's upcoming smartphones.

According to T3, the leaked handsets came from Digi-Wo forum. Sony has not confirmed any of the handsets yet. Based on the photos, the larger Z3 seemed to sport slimmer bezels, while the compact version resembles the iPhone 5S.

The Z3 appeared in white casing and the mini variant appears in white. The smartphones will follow the design of the previous Xperia Z handsets.

Moreover, well-known Xperia developer, DoomLoRD, tweeted the specs and features of the Z3 Compact ahead of its release.

According to the tweet, the handset will pack a4.5-inch display with 720p HD resolution to keep the price at bay. However, Sony will beef up its processor packing a 2.5GHz quad-core Snapdragon 801 processor with 2GB of RAM as flagships like the Sony Xperia Z2, LG G3, HTC One M8 and Samsung Galaxy S5.

The handset will have a co-processor Adreno 330 graphics processing unit, which will definitely make the handset faster.

The Z3 Compact will retain the 20.7-megapixel rear camera included in the Z2, Z1 and Z1 Compact. However, the handset will receive a slight upgrade on the front-facing camera and will be 2.1-megapixel.

The leaks suggested the imminent release date of the new batch of Sony Xperia handsets. It was speculated that both the Z3 and the Z3 Compact are allegedly going to launch at IFA in Berlin in September. If rumors proved to be true, the Xperia Z3 handset will battle head on with Samsung Galaxy Note 4. There is a tendency that the two smartphones will try to steal the spotlight on the said event.

However, Sony has not revealed the official release date, specs and features of the Xperia Z3 and the Xperia Z3 Compact.
