Sony Xperia Z3 release date this September?

Sony Xperia Z2

Sony Xperia Z3 release date is speculated to happen in September based on previous releases of the company. Unlike other companies, Sony does not wait for a whole year to release the successors of its flagship smartphone.

The successor of Sony Xperia Z2 is set to stir the market in the fall. The device, Xperia Z3, is pegged for a UK launch in September. The rumored release date was based on the pattern of releases of the company.

In February 2013, Sony unveiled the Xperia Z, which was quickly followed by Xperia Z1 in September of the same year. In February this year at the Mobile World Congress, the Japanese company showed off the Xperia Z2. Thus, many assumed that the successor of the handset will be announced soon.

Previous reports claimed that the smartphone will be showcased at this year's IFA event in Berlin. There were also some new tips that stated that the Xperia Z3 and the Z3 Compact will be offered first in Vodafone Germany.

Meanwhile, Sony Xperia Z3 is reportedly set to sport a metal frame that has a PVD coating, which gives the device a mirror-like finish just like the characteristics of stainless steel. It is also predicted that the Z3 will follow the rectangular design of its predecessors; however, the new model will be slimmer and sturdier compared to the previous models. It is believed that Sony made the smartphone more resilient to damage and scratches.

The upcoming handset will pack a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 MSM8974-AC chipset and has a 1080p display. The Sony Xperia Z3 is also running Android KitKat 4.4, and has a 23.1.X.XXX build number and a 3.4 kernel. Moreover, the handset will also sport the new Adreno 420 graphics chipset. Thus, consumers can expect that the upcoming Sony smartphone will have great processing power.

However, Sony has not officially announced anything yet. Thus, buyers should stay put until a go signal was given by the manufacturer.
