A new evidence popped up online hinting that the Sony Xperia Z3 might receive the latest Android 5.0 Lollipop OS update very soon. The new leak showed that the new Android update for the Xperia Z3 has been certified by the Wi-Fi Alliance

Reports say that the update may arrive to the Xperia Z3 by the end of this month following other smartphones currently getting the OS upgrade. Other companies have already started rolling out the Lollipop update. This coincides with Sony's previous announcement that the latest and biggest Android update will be coming to the Xperia Z line in February, landing first to the Xperia Z3 and Z2. Meanwhile, Xperia Z1 users may have to wait longer.

On the other hand, Sony-centric website Xperia Blog cited Canadian carrier Rogers, which stated that the Sony Xperia Z3 and Z2 will begin receiving the OS update in March and the Xperia Z1 will get the upgrade a month later.

Sony is one of the OEMs that has practiced early adaption of the new mobile software in the past, so fans are slightly disappointed by the delay since Lollipop has been around for three months already. According to International Business Times, the roll out of the new mobile OS is delayed due to the bugs spotted in its source codes. In addition, the report also said that Sony is currently prepping the OS update because of the minor tweaks and additions being made to it. However, the Japan-based OEM manufacturer is certain to deliver a bug-free operating system.

The latest Lollipop update will bring forth some of the major changes in Android's pure experience since it is one of the biggest Android updates. The changes include an overall new user interface dubbed as Material Design as well as improvements in the smartphone's performance, notifications, and security of the handset.
