Sony Xperia Z3 leaked features indicate top-of-the-line specs

 Sony

The Sony Xperia Z3 features leaked online and showed that the handset will include top-of-the-line specs that will make the smartphone a strong contender in the smartphone market.

According to reliable tipster @evleaks, the Sony Xperia Z3 will look like the previous Xperia Z2, which first appeared at the Mobile World Congress in February. This is no surprise as Sony has no history of drastically changing the design of its products. The tipster stated that the model number is D6653. Below are the leaked specs and features of the upcoming Xperia Z3:

  • 5.15-inch Full HD 1080p screen display
  • 2.4GHz quad core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 chipset
  • Adreno 330 GPU
  • 3GB RAM
  • 16GB internal storage
  • 20.7 MP back camera and 2.1 MP front-facing shooter
  • Android 4.4.4 Kitkat OS

Moreover, the Sony Xperia Z3 was speculated to sport a metal frame with PVD coating. The new handset will be thinner and sturdier compared to previous Sony smartphones. Thus, this will make the Xperia Z3 more resilient to damage and scratches.

Meanwhile, new purported photos of the Xperia Z3 showed the top to bottom profiles of Sony Xperia Z3. The photos hinted that the smartphone will have a phablet-size form factor. Based on the photos, the new device has more curves compared to previous Xperia handsets that have a flat and rectangular design. This could be the response to comments of some users claiming that the Z1 and Z2 handsets were uncomfortable in the hand.

Sony Xperia Z3 release date is expected to happen in September based on the previous releases of the Japanese manufacturer. Previous reports claimed that the smartphone will be showcased at this year's IFA event in Berlin just like what Sony did last year. There were also new rumors that claimed that the Xperia Z3and the Z3 Compact will be offered first in Vodafone Germany. However, Sony has not revealed any official announcement for its upcoming device.
