There is a big chance that Samsung will include the unveiling of new tablets in its Unpacked event on March 1 since the company has not introduced a tablet for quite some time. Samsung tablets were expected to be announced late last year, which did not materialize.

According to SamMobile, the Galaxy Tab A and the Galaxy Tab A Plus will probably join the Samsung Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S Edge in the company's event next month. Since the tablets are mid-range devices, consumers should not expect a lot on the hardware side.

The report also revealed some of the speculated specs and features of the tablets. Both slates will reportedly be available in 8- and 9.7-inch models, although the Tab A Plus model will include a stylus.

The 8-inch models of both the Galaxy Tab A and Tab A Plus will feature: a resolution of 1024 x 768 pixels, quad-core Snapdragon 410 chipset clocked at 1.2 GHz paired with 1.5 GB of RAM, 16 GB of storage, a 5-megapixel camera and a 4200 mAh battery.

Meanwhile, the 9.7-inch variants of both tablets will have slightly buffed specs and features – Qualcomm APQ8016 chipset with 2 GB of RAM and 6000 mAh battery.

The new Samsung tablets will support Wi-Fi and LTE connectivity features and will run with Android 5.0 Lollipop OS. Although the hardware specs fall below high-end standards, buyers will surely be treated with a friendly price tag.

Aside from the Galaxy Tab A and Tab A Plus, Samsung is also rumored to release the new entries for the Galaxy Tab 4, Tab PRO, Note, and Note PRO lines.

At the recent Consumer Electronics Show, no tablet or smartphone appeared at Samsung's press conference. Thus, Samsung tablets are long overdue but so far, the company has not confirmed whether it is indeed working on new generation tablets.
