Samsung Galaxy S6, S6 Edge rumors: Phone exists as Vodafone Netherlands source code names a device called 'Samsung Galaxy S Edge'

Will the soon-to-be released Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge looks exactly like the Galaxy Note Edge? Samsung Galaxy website

While the Samsung Galaxy S6 will presumably come out in the market soon, there are still doubts on whether or not the rumored Galaxy S6 Edge would get the green light and if it will be launched alongside the flagship smartphone. Samsung fans as well as local carriers are waiting for the word of confirmation from the mobile manufacturer.

It seems, however, that Vodafone in Netherlands has (almost) verified the existence of the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge. The name of the device, as Android Community reports, appeared in the source code of the carrier's website that heavily suggests the imminent release of the handset.

What is surprising in the new leak is that the device is listed as Galaxy S Edge dropping the "6," which hints that the smartphone is the first of its kind. This is similar to the Note Edge. The prime feature of the handset is the addition of a curved screen display.

However, other details of the smartphone were not revealed in the leak, but it definitely lifts the hopes of those waiting for the handset. Moreover, the Galaxy Note Edge seems to be quite popular and a lot of people pick it up in stores.

The Samsung Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S Edge will most likely share the same specs and features. The smartphones are rumored to feature a 5.5-inch screen display with Full HD resolution. Some reports say that the handset will keep its 5-inch screen panel with quad HD pixel resolution.

The Galaxy S6 will be powered by Qualcomm's Snapdraon 810 chipset or an octa-core Exynos 7 SoC with 64-bit architecture with 4 GB of RAM. New reports claim that Qualcomm will make a special version of the chipset just for Samsung. Other purported features of the smartphone are: 32 GB and 64 GB storage variants with microSD slot for additional storage, 16 MP rear camera and 3.1 MP front-facing camera and longer battery life. The handset will most likely run with the latest Android 5.0 Lollipop OS.

The Samsung Galaxy S6 release is reportedly scheduled in March at the Mobile World Congress, which has been the launching platform of the series.
