The upcoming Samsung Galaxy S6 is rumored to have significant differences from its predecessor, as the company reportedly hopes that the new handset will help the company increase its sales and profits. According to rumors, the Galaxy S6 will have: 5-inch quad HD screen display; Qualcomm 20nm Snapdraon 810 chipset or octa-core Exynos 7 SoC with 64-bit architecture; 4 GB of RAM; Android 5.0 Lollipop operating system; 32 GB and 64 GB storage variants with microSD slot; 16-megapixel rear camera and 3.1-megapixel front-facing camera; and longer battery life.

Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 chipset release
Chipmaker Qualcomm is set to release the next generation Snapdragon 810 processor early next year and Samsung is reported to have first dibs on the chipset. The Galaxy S6, scheduled for launch in 2015, is said to have this processor.
Samsung Galaxy S5 low sales
One of the main reasons why the Samsung Galaxy S6 is bound for release is due to the low sales of its predecessor – the Samsung Galaxy S5. Reports claim that Samsung's profits suffered a huge blow because of the unpopularity of the Galaxy S5. With the mediocre specs and features of the Galaxy S5, it is in need of a better upgrade.
Leaked specs
The rumor mill is unceasingly releasing alleged specs and features of the S6. Just recently, the handset appeared in AnTuTu benchmark, leaking some of the features of the Galaxy S6. Rumors also say that the handset will include a 5.5-inch display with Quad-HD resolution, octa-core processor, 16-megapixel back camera, and Android 5.0 Lollipop OS. In addition, an alleged prototype of the Samsung Galaxy S6 emerged online, but some reports say that the photo is a hoax.
Samsung Galaxy S5 deals
Lastly, one concrete indication that the release of the Galaxy S6 is near is the appearance of a myriad of deals and discounts for the S5. Usually, when the current model undergoes a price cut, it suggests that the launch of its successor is coming. At the moment, Walmart is offering the Samsung Galaxy S5 for as low as $79 with a two-year commitment.
However, the South Korean tech company has not yet revealed its roadmap for next year.
