Samsung Galaxy S6 rumors: New concept image features curved screen on both sides

Will the soon-to-be released Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge looks exactly like the Galaxy Note Edge? Samsung Galaxy website

As the New Year approaches, there is no stopping the rumors on the upcoming devices bound for release next year. One of the most anticipated flagship smartphones expected to arrive in 2015 is the Samsung Galaxy S6.

In his concept image, designer Deepak Ahuja visualized the Samsung Galaxy S6 with a 5.2-inch Super AMOLED display with 4K resolution, Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 processor, 4 GB RAM, 32 GB and 64 GB internal storage options, 21-megapixel back camera with LED flash, and 3.1 MP front-facing camera. But the most interesting feature of his render of the imagined Galaxy S6 is its curved edge screen located on both sides of the device.

This unique feature was first seen in the recently released Samsung Galaxy Note Edge, although the Edge's curved screen is found only on the right side of the device. Despite sporting this unique feature, the device does not slip from the hands of the user as the metal edges give the handset a solid grip. Also, the curved screen has a grip area where the fingers rest. Furthermore, although the curved screen is placed on the right side of the handset, left-handed users can switch on the mode for lefties for more convenience. This curved screen feature has made the Edge popular, even surpassing the fame of its brother, the Galaxy Note 4, and many are hoping that they will see the same feature on the future Galaxy S6.

However, alleged Samsung Galaxy S6 features were spotted in AnTuTu's database revealing that the handset with model number of SM-G925F will have a 5.5-inch QHD display, octa-core Exynos 7 SoC with 64-bit architecture, and 16-megapixel back camera, quite different from designer Ahuja's concept.

Previous rumors claimed that the Samsung Galaxy S6 will be announced ahead the Mobile World Congress which is scheduled to take place from March 2 to 5, 2015. However, Samsung has not released an official announcement as of the moment.
