Samsung may launch the Samsung Galaxy S5 Prime in June but the handset may sport a higher price tag.

It was rumored that Samsung was cooking a variant of Samsung Galaxy S5 that was reportedly to debut next month in Seoul, South Korea. According to SamMobile citing Korean media source Naver, Samsung is expected to launch the Samsung Galaxy S5 Prime priced at around 900,000 Won or $875.

However, the South Korean tech giant has not confirmed the arrival of Samsung Galaxy S5 Prime yet but there were a lot of proofs that hinted the imminent release of the handset. Early this month, unnamed Samsung devices coded as SM-GS906S and SM-GS906K, which were believed as Galaxy S5 Prime variants of telecom networks of SK Telecom and KT Telecom arrived in India for testing at the local R&D facility.

According to the earlier reports, Samsung Galaxy S5 Prime boasts a 5.2-inch screen display with 2560 x 1440 pixel resolution. Other specs and features of the device is a new Octa-core processor (Exynos 5430) with 2.1GHz quad-core Cortex A15 CPU & 1.5GHz quad-core Cortex A7 CPU, 600MHz Mali T6XXX graphics engine, 3GB RAM, 32GB, 16 megapixel camera at the back with Optical Imaging Sensor and ISOCELL technology and a 2 megapixel front camera. Lastly, the handset will run with 4.4.3 version of the Kitkat OS.

Meanwhile, Samsung's rival LG Electronics was rumored to unveil its new flagship smartphone LG G3 on May 27. The company released a teaser video showing the top of the line specs and features of the handset. Some of the notable features of the handset are a metal casing and 2K display that were skipped in the recently released Samsung Galaxy S5.

Samsung and LG devices may have a head on battle soon. However, it is still unknown whether the Prime variant of Samsung's flagship smartphone will reach out to international markets.
